Water/Natural Resources Boards set policy for the public agencies that provide water and/or natural resources to the local community. These boards are sometimes overlooked as elected positions, but they can have a huge effect on resource management and development within their communities. One thing that should be noted is that the policies and agendas set by the board must comply with other environmental/resource regulations determined by other agencies. Water/Natural Resources Boards are a great place for people to get involved in politics if the environment is one of their chief concerns.
Application GuidelinesTo file for this position follow these three simple steps: 1) Contact the San Diego County Registrar of Voters at (858) 565-5800 to verify that your address qualifies for the position. 2) Obtain the correct filing papers from the county elections office. Elections administrators understand that first time candidates may have additional questions, so we suggest asking any additional questions regarding filing for office (like the amount of petition signatures, filing fees, or to double check filing windows/dates). 3) Submit the filing papers within 113-88 days prior to the election, but make sure that these dates are verified with the county elections department! Election deadlines are unforgiving and misunderstanding them will prevent you from appearing on the ballot. If you have any questions, contact the San Diego County Registrar of Voters-Elections Department, which can be reached by phone at (858) 565-5800 or firstname.lastname@example.org
